Welcome to the Project eID Codex. Here you can find documentation on Project eID , a framework for a national level electronic identity system which provides with both on-line and off-line authentication and identification modes. eID, short for electronic identity, is the electronic counterpart to national identification card (NIC), driving license, passport, and other membership cards. This addresses some important aspects such as privacy issues which are commonly ignored in many similar systems.
